NOTICE OF DATA EVENT
SRC Group Inc. d/b/a Superior Roofing and Construction Company (“Superior Roofing”) is providing notice of a recent data privacy event that may affect information related to certain individuals. The confidentiality, privacy, and security of information is one of Superior Roofing’s highest priorities and it takes this matter seriously.
In June 2023, Superior Roofing became aware of suspicious activity within its environment impacting certain computer systems. Superior Roofing took steps to secure its environment and launched an investigation to determine the nature and scope of the activity. Through its investigation, Superior Roofing learned that, between June 12, 2023 and June 13, 2023, an unauthorized actor may have had access to certain systems that stored information related to certain individuals. Superior Roofing undertook an extensive and time intensive review of what information was potentially impacted and to whom that information relates. Although Superior Roofing has no evidence of any misuse of the information in connection with this incident, it is providing notice to those whose information was present in its systems.
While the information impacted varies by individual, the types of information that could have been impacted includes: Social Security number, driver’s license number and/or state identification number, financial account information, health insurance information, medical information, date of birth, and/or government issued identification number. At this time, there is no evidence of any identity theft or fraud occurring as the result of this incident.
Superior Roofing is providing notice and complimentary access to credit monitoring services to individuals whose information was impacted in this event. Superior Roofing also notified relevant state authorities, and law enforcement. Superior Roofing encourages impacted individuals to remain vigilant against incidents of identity theft and fraud, to review account statements, and to monitor their credit reports for suspicious activity and to detect errors. Superior Roofing is providing impacted individuals with contact information for the three major credit reporting agencies, as well as providing advice on how to obtain free credit reports and how to place fraud alerts and security freezes on their credit files.
